Take the train to Hässleholm

Think about the environment, take the train with your hiking boots on and start your hike directly at the train station in central Hässleholm. In every hiking suggestion below you start/finish at the station area. On both sides of the tracks you will find orange trail signs for Skåneleden/Hovdalaleden trail, which is the main hiking trail. It coincides with other local trails and other colours which are also indicated below.

Hiking suggestions

Start/finish for all hiking suggestions is the train station area in central Hässleholm. The location of the accommodations are indicated by a blue star in the maps below. To illustrate the direction of the trails more properly there are blue and/or orange arrows.

Plan your hiking

It is recommended that you plan your hiking tour with suitable stops for rest and other experiences along the way. For example the Alslingan trail, the bird platform Slingra Dig, the yoga spot in the bog, in the Treehouse café (only open in Summer) and Hovdala castle with park and garden. Discover the history of Hovdala castle during a guided tour, visit the shop, the exhibitions, restaurant and café.

Along the trails there are interesting places to visit, accommodation facilities, cafes and restaurants. Check the opening hours and book your overnight stay in advance.

Do you have to pre-book the wind shelters?

You must pre-book your accommodation in Birk, Birka and Ronja at campsite Between dusk and dawn at Hovdala Hiking Centre. The shelters at Göingeåsen and Hässleholmsgården are subjects for availability and these cannot be pre-booked.

You are allowed to camp in a tent for a night or two in the countryside according to the Right of Public Access. But do not destroy and do not disturb!
